Brief

The Motorsport Knowledge Institute was set as the training and research division of the Automobile and Touring Club of the United Arab Emirates. The logo they required was needed to emulate speed, precision and control. They that the colours used be those of the UAE.

Approach

To start I began by researching other extremely well established motorsport logos. The Formula One, Moto GP and Nascar logos. These logos show movement and speed through the use of colour and typography. I had an idea to develop a concept based on tire tracks.

Design

The finished design is based on a tire track. The logo depicts speed, control and change of direction. The Typography helps to accentuate movement and speed but also gives the icon a more solid grounded feel. The colours chosen for the final logo were those of the UAE.
